Busiest Wake Weekend of the 2020s

Sorry but not sorry, this one will be a long one.  And this time I for once can attest that it’s not because I like to talk a lot/talk about wake, it’s because our team RELENTLESSLY DOMINATED!  I’ll try my best to keep this as quick as I can.

Let’s start with the last stop of the PWT in Colorado.  Guenther Oka (yea be ready for his name to be said in one of these updates more than any rider ever) got himself a silver and our guy Sam Brown a 3rd.  And Guenther stood on top of the same podium again but in 3rd for overall PWT.  Yea G and S!  Great year for you guys at the PWT.

Now to the other side of the world to Red Bull Wake the City.  This was a doubles event and because of that, we had an LF rider in all but one podium spot across men's and women’s.  Yea just reconfirming statement of relentless domination.  At the top of the podium in men’s with a gold medal was the Grail himself, Gavin Stuckey!  And to his left with a silver medal was Luke Carrick!  Yea boys, solid showing, congrats!

On the Women’s side of things at WTC, the girl that makes every event a Holiday, Claudia Pagnini got herself a gold medal.  And with a silver in her hand was Maryh Rougier.  And in 3rd was the double LF team, Rivers Hedrick and Meagan Ethell.  I mean well done ladies, seriously way to show up and let Norway know LF is the brand!

Talk about the busiest weekend ever, right after the PWT on Saturday (still in Colorado I want to add) was the Pueblo River Walk Riverfest (12th year running) and who else would you think would win this event, the best men’s all terrain rider in our sport right now, Guenther Oka!  Yea G, really turning it up!

But no wait, it keeps going, not only with events, but with Guenther too.  Also over the weekend was the Wake Point Open about 2 hours west of Austin TX on Lake LBJ,  This event is very similar to Wakefest.  It has a traditional boat wake comp and then a 4 trick shootout.  For the traditional comp, of course LF was on both the men's and women’s podiums.  On the men’s side of things, the Origin got himself a silver medal, the Brostock Champ, Luca Kidd!  And the vibes were there too for the ladies with Zahra Kell winning the Pro Women’s division!  And I also told you I would mention to you Guenther’s name again as he got 2nd in the shootout by putting down an unreal 4 trick line for the shoot out that consisted of a flawless zero, wrapped hs nose grab back 9 and a ts wrapped grabbed bs 7 to the moon landing way outside the wake and maybe perhaps the wildest trick of the entire weekend, a switch mute mobe into the flats with the cleanest stomp of a landing.  It was wakeboarding entertainment at its finest getting to watch the shootout first hand, props to all the riders.

This was one of the best wake weekends if not ever in the 2020s, but especially for Liquid Force.  Congrats again to you all, keep doing what you do, you are all on one!

Til the next episode,
