The season has begun!

Howdy LF'ers

Epic start for all things standing sideways for LF this past weekend.  We had the start of the WWA Nautique Wake Series down at Moomba Masters, La Familia premier, Singularity premier and also the Foil Surf Racing League, so a busy weekend for the team.

Moomba Masters is one of the best boat events there is, a really iconic venue/event as it sits right on the river in downtown Melbourne.  Usually when the venue is in such a metro area and or there is a heavy crowd presence, there tends to be challenging waters, or at least from what I can remember from my time of riding in the event.  But of course our team showed up like they always do and handled the water no issue.

Zahra Kell going with another repeat win in Pro Women’s.  I believe Zahra has now won the event 4 years in a row, but I might need to be fact checked on that.  But pretty insane that she has been on a roll like that.  Well done on the gold Zahra!

And on the men’s side, super fired up for our guy Daniel Johnson with his first ever NWS podium with a bronze there at Moomba!  Daniel is the epitome of hard work and it’s really starting to payoff  I cannot praise Daniel enough as he is always the most willing and helpful athletes!  Daniel works full time back in Orlando, but prioritizes wake as you can tell by him never letting his foot off the gas.  So stoked for ya DJ!

Also out at Melbourne Cable Park during Moomba was the first premier of the La Familia full length.  I wish I was there and I wish I had gotten to see the film, so I don’t have a ton of insight to provide here, but from the looks on everyone’s stories, it looked insane!  The whole crew including Luca and Sam were on site doing cash for tricks and partying down before and during the viewing.  I am frothing over it just like everyone else, cannot wait to see it.

There also was the FSRL out in Cocoa Beach, FL.  I relentlessly say over and over that Guenther Oka is the Swiss army knife not only on our team, but is just a damn great waterman.  And this past weekend’s showing at FSRL was a great display of how great he is, even when not being towed or in fresh water.  Guenther locked himself up a bronze in the strapped division and a bronze in the foil assist division.  I think what’s even more impressive is that he didn’t even really train for the event either and he landed on the podiums with some of the biggest names in foiling.  Congrats Guenther!

Lastly, Matty Muncey and the 2Spicy crew dropped a full length call Singularity from Lunar cable park down in Spain.  The crew put together plenty of high risk hacks and hits you have never seen nor will ever see again and the entire film bleeds so much style.  Matty has some unreal hits in it that will leave you feeling nothing short of wow’ed. I think you need to watch it yourself to get all the same feels.

And this is just the start of the season, keep it going team!  2026 already looking to be all time!
